| Northwest photographer Lindsay Borden spends her time capturing images in her native Pacific Northwest and beyond. What started as a teenage interest has grown over the last ten years into a picture-snapping profession that borders on obsession. And it’s taken her from the West Coast, where she graduated from Western Washington University in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree, to Brooklyn, NY, where she earned her MFA at Pratt Institute, and back again. She’s drawn to a variety of subjects that allow her to tell a story through pictures, and galleries in and around Seattle, San Francisco and New York City have exhibited her work. Currently, she’s focused on wedding photography and editorial projects, including a recent series that earned her an award for best feature photography from the Society of Professional Journalism. She also shoots for private clients on assignments that range from portraiture to food photography. Lindsay’s passion for photography extends to art education as well. She recently took on the role of adjunct instructor and visiting artist at Western Washington University, where she has had the opportunity to not only nurture students’ love of photography but also help them develop a better understanding of the medium as an art form. In her spare time she enjoys biking, snow sports, boating, swimming and hiking (in other words, any activity that involves mountains, water and sunshine) as well as soaking up as much film and music as she can. Oh and she loves her friends, family and BBQ food! |
